I guess that
   "Several-strings-contain-similar-substring"
can be verified by a **function** which checks for this property.

Is it equally obvious that
   "Several-strings-describe-similar-functionality"
can be verified by a **string matching procedure**?

Could this mean, the "functional" approach has a wider scope?
