The article describes methods to send information as clearly as possible,
with the ultimate test being to send info to an extraterrestrial
civilization.

Also has implications for software systems.

"By applying techniques from anticryptography to the systems and software
in use today, we can build software that automatically learns new
procedures as they are required and that allows designers to decide which
components to use based on technical merits instead of market share."
